So instead of spending hours on trying to fix that problem, rather spend those hours to improve your Google-fu.

Honestly, why people try to fix things that aren’t broken is beyond me.  Improve it?  Absolutely.  Assume it’s broken and try to fix it?  Noooooo.

This applies to radios, bicycles, penis size, cars, computers, operating systems, relationships, tray tables on an airplane, breast size, that little bump just behind your ear that seems to make you look funny, lines of java code that is working just perfectly, and any and all equipment that requires a screwdriver or similar tool to open.

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you actually know.

I’m busy reading through some Zend Framework documentation and realised that hell, there’s a lot about it I don’t know.  And the more I read, the more I realised that there’s so much more that I don’t know.   Heh.

Never, ever, accept the first quote you get from an insurance broker or callcenter agent.

Their initial quotes are usualyl severely inflated, and you can often get them to drop it down quite a lot by playing the “Oh wow, that’s quite expensive, is there nothing you can do?” card.  Along with the “How long is that quote valid for?  I need to compare it to some of your competitors, I’ll phone you back.” card.

In business or in personal life, *always* keep the other party informed about everything that affects them.  Good or bad.  There’s not many things worse than being left in the dark.

Don’t for one moment think “I’ll charge my phone/laptop when I get to work in the morning”.  There might not be electricity when you get there.

Don’t be afraid to experiment while cooking. You never know what your taste buds will like in the end.

But remember this though: Garlic does not go with everything.

Don’t poke a previously angered possum* with a stick. It’s bound to retaliate in unpredictable ways.
